Sprints are based on your best time, not track position, so there is no need for aggressive passing maneuvers, in fact passing is only allowed on the straights.  Sprints are often Called "Time Attack" or "Superlap" sessions.

ABOUT SPRINTING

This is my first event with Track Attack, I just signed up, what do I do next?

PAPERWORK - All paper work should be completed & returned at least 7 days before the event.

• If you dont have a AASA license download one from HERE. You buy the AASA license through Queensland Raceways, you can do it at the track on the day.

PAYMENT

• Payment is processed when you sign up to an event
• There are other options if you need to pay in another way

CLOTHING - For Sprints you need

• Helmet to Australian standards - Commercially available helmets should normally meet this standard
• Long non flammable clothes and enclosed shoes
• We stock a range of SFI certfied racewear

CAR

• Cars must be in suitable condition, either "Roadworthy" or "Raceworthy"
• Its a good idea to check your car over the week before you go, especially check brake pads and tyres.
• Cars are "self-scrutineered" at sprint meetings

NOISE

• Noise is an issue at Lakeside cars must be "Road Car Noise" which has been determined to be 95 dba at 5.0 meters for this venue.
• There are no issues with noise at Queensland Raceway

FORMAT - LAKESIDE PARK

Each Session =

• 1 x warm up lap
• 5 x hot laps
• 1 x cool down lap

the first 4 sessions are timed
the 5th session is an extra untimed run for those want a bit more track time
plus there are passenger rides at the end given time on the day

so you get 20 timed laps
15 untimed laps
about 10 to 20 minutes of passenger rides

Note: Maximum 100 cars at Lakeside

FORMAT - QUEENSLAND RACEWAY

Each Session =

• 1 x warm up lap
• 5 x hot laps
• 1 x cool down lap

the first 3 sessions are timed
the 4th session is an extra untimed run for those want a bit more track time
plus there are passenger rides at the end given time on the day

so you get 15 timed laps
8 untimed laps
about 10 minutes of passenger rides

If you don't already have a AASA License you can purchase a day License for $20.00 or a yearly License for $55.00
